pa\u00eds sudamericano.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-19j92fr ebmt73l0\" readability=\"12\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-hhl7in e17g058b0\">El sismo se registr\u00f3 a las 12:12 hora local (17:12 GMT) y tuvo su <b>epicentro en el municipio de Balao, cerca de la frontera con Per\u00fa<\/b>, a una profundidad de 66 kil\u00f3metros, seg\u00fan el Servicio Geol\u00f3gico de Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-19j92fr ebmt73l0\" readability=\"9\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-hhl7in e17g058b0\">Las ciudades de <b>Machala y Cuenca<\/b> fueron de las m\u00e1s afectadas, con viviendas destruidas y veh\u00edculos aplastados en las calles.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-19j92fr ebmt73l0\" readability=\"15\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-hhl7in e17g058b0\">\u00abEl sismo fue sentido en casi todas las provincias del pa\u00eds, pero se tuvo un mayor n\u00famero de reportes que provienen de las provincias de Guayas, m\u00e1s reciente, la Presidencia de Ecuador report\u00f3 que <b>14 <\/b><b>personas hab\u00edan fallecido, mientras que <\/b><b>381 <\/b><b>resultaron heridas<\/b>. En total, se hab\u00edan contabilizado 44 viviendas destruidas y unas 90 con alg\u00fan grado de afectaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-19j92fr ebmt73l0\" readability=\"7\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-hhl7in e17g058b0\">La mayor\u00eda de las v\u00edctimas fueron habitantes de las provincias de El Oro y Azuzay.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-19j92fr ebmt73l0\" readability=\"7\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-hhl7in e17g058b0\">Tambi\u00e9n cerca&nbsp;de&nbsp;50 unidades&nbsp;educativas&nbsp;y&nbsp;m\u00e1s&nbsp;de&nbsp;30 centros&nbsp;de&nbsp;salud fueron&nbsp;afectados.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-19j92fr ebmt73l0\" readability=\"7\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-hhl7in e17g058b0\">El presidente Guillermo Lasso encabez\u00f3 la instalaci\u00f3n de un comit\u00e9 de emergencia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-19j92fr ebmt73l0\" readability=\"10\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-hhl7in e17g058b0\">\u00abEstamos realizando la evaluaci\u00f3n de las afectaciones dadas por el sismo. Nos asustamos mucho<\/b>, nosotros estamos cerca del epicentro, fue mucho el susto\u00bb, relat\u00f3 Ernesto Alvarado, habitante de la isla ecuatoriana de Pun\u00e1, a la agencia Reuters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-19j92fr ebmt73l0\"><img src=\"http:\/\/nuevacordoba.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/terremoto-en-ecuador-al-menos-14-muertos-y-380-heridos-por-un-fuerte-sismo-de-magnitud-68.png\" alt=\"Map\" id=\"include-1\" class=\"bbc-1082qq3 e1mo64ex0\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-19j92fr ebmt73l0\" readability=\"9\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-hhl7in e17g058b0\">Tres instalaciones de la estatal Petroecuador (Terminal Pascuales, planta GNL y Terminal 3 Bocas) suspendieron de manera preventiva sus actividades y fueron evacuadas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-19j92fr ebmt73l0\" readability=\"8\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-hhl7in e17g058b0\">Las autoridades dijeron que el movimiento <b>no tuvo las condiciones necesarias para generar un tsunami <\/b>en la costa continental e insular.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-19j92fr ebmt73l0\" readability=\"10\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-hhl7in e17g058b0\">Desde Per\u00fa, el sismo se sinti\u00f3 con intensidad en el norte del pa\u00eds, pero no hubo un reporte de v\u00edctimas o da\u00f1os de manera inmediata.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><h2 id=\"Im\u00e1genes-de-las-afectaciones\" tabindex=\"-1\" class=\"bbc-1f03ibc eglt09e0\">Im\u00e1genes de las afectaciones<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-19j92fr ebmt73l0\" readability=\"9\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-hhl7in e17g058b0\">La prensa local, agencias de noticias y usuarios de redes sociales compartieron im\u00e1genes de las afectaciones registradas en las zonas afectadas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-19j92fr ebmt73l0\" readability=\"10\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-hhl7in e17g058b0\">En Machala, adem\u00e1s de viviendas destruidas, el terremoto caus\u00f3 <b>el hundimiento de un museo en el antiguo Puerto Bol\u00edvar.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-19j92fr ebmt73l0\" readability=\"9\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" class=\"bbc-hhl7in e17g058b0\">El edificio estaba ubicado sobre el agua.
